KIDs Latin and Ballroom for 6 y.o. - 10 y.o. : Beginner Level

As witnessed in the documentary film "Mad Hot Ballroom", children cultivate self-esteem, respect, coordination, and more life-enhancing skills through learning ballroom dance.

Beginners classes for young children are designed as an introduction to ballroom dance in various styles, that combine International Latin and Standard, American Rythm and Smooth and other Social partner dances (including but not limited to Salsa, Merengue, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Samba, Jive, Waltz, Tango, Swing, and Foxtrot). In these classes, basic steps and rhythm are emphasized. Each class includes warm-up and stretching time, a wonderful way to improve overall flexibility and strength and a valuable component to dance training. Children learn to have a good posture and work in couples and as a team. They have Fun and learn the skill of social dance that will last their lifetime.

Drop-ins and new students are always welcome in beginners classes. Partner is not required.

Dancers have the option of participating in Dancesport competitions.
If they choose to dance competitively, we offer private coaching that focus on individual abilities. Whether students compete or just dance socially, everyone has the opportunity to perform at the end of each session.

     Students are expected to:
- Wear closed-toe leather soled ballroom dance shoes or ballet slippers.     No jeans.
- Girls to wear leggings or skirts (above knees); Boys to wear fitted or streatchy pants.
- Students with long hair must wear it pulled back in pony tail or bun.
- Treat teachers and students with respect and kindness.
